In juli 2011 vindt het London Street Photography Festival plaats. Straatfotografie is volgens de organisatie een toegankelijke kunstvorm en een wezenlijk stuk gereedschap voor communicatie. Tijdens het festival, onder meer in de National Portrait Gallery en de British Library, worden ook enkele prijzen uitgereikt.
De organisatie omschrijft straatfotografie aldus: ‘candid, un-staged photography which captures, explores or questions contemporary society and the relationships between individuals and their surroundings.’
