After a successful introduction of Slideluck Potshow in the summer of 2011, Amsterdam will have its second food & photography event on January 14, 2012 in Pakhuis de Zwijger, curated by Paul Kooiker.

Last June Amsterdam followed the footsteps of cities such as New York, Paris, London, São Paolo, Barcelona, Rio de Janeiro and Berlin and hosted a slideshow and an enormous potluck dinner, consisting of the home cooked signature dishes of audience members. National newspaper De Volkskrant wrote about the first Amsterdam edition that the slideshow had been ‘re-established’. And now, it is time for the second edition!

Slideluck Potshow is a New York City-based, non-profit arts organization that provides an opportunity for artists and arts-appreciators to gather around food, friends, and photography for an unforgettable night.

The evening begins with a couple hours of mingling and dining on the home-cooked delights of those who attend, and then the lights are dimmed, the crowd is hushed, and a spectacular slideshow with photoseries of 30 photographers commences.

Curator for this second edition is Dutch visual artist Paul Kooiker, award winner of the Prix de Rome and the A. Roland Holst Prize. Kooiker’s work has been exhibited widely in the Netherlands and abroad. He has published a number of books and a bi-monthly photo journal curated by himself and gallerist Willem van Zoetendaal. Paul Kooiker will select slideshows from artists in the Netherlands and abroad, out of a wide range of photography genres. He will make a selection from the Open Call for Entry and add photographers of his choice. Photojournalists, fashion and fine-art photographers all present work alongside one another in a relaxed and spirited atmosphere.

Former SLPS-curator Edie Peters? picked work from Morad Bouchakour, Erik Kessels, Kadir van Lohuizen, Iwan Baan and many others. Internationally, contributions from Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, Gregory Crewdson, Spencer Tunick and Martin Parr have been part of the programme.
