Gallery Pennings established the Harry Pennings award in 2007. On the one hand in memory of the founder of the oldest gallery specialized in photography in the Netherlands. On the other hand to stimulate starting photographers and give theme the chance to distinguish and present themselves in the gallery. Harry Pennings had a keen eye for young talent and that made him a unique gallery owner. Especially since he never ran his gallery for financial gain. Passion for photography – and the makers – was his motive. And that is the motive for setting up the award.
On the occasion of the Harry Pennings award there will be published a catalog.
